A one-of-a-kind royal blue and gold vintage Indian patchwork wall hanging, handmade in North India from reclaimed vintage textiles with metallic embroidery, mirror work and beading. At approx. 40 × 60 inches (102 × 152 cm), it is a large statement piece.

THE STORY

Rich royal blues, intricate gold embroidery and centuries of textile tradition come together in The Midnight Maharaja Tapestry. Inspired by the grandeur of India's palaces, this striking handmade wall hanging is a true statement piece, celebrating the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and reclaimed vintage textiles.

At Aramse Aramse, our family spends much of the year travelling throughout India, building lasting relationships with independent artisan communities whose skills have been passed down through generations. We personally visited the cooperative of four artisan families in North India who sourced these remarkable vintage textiles, allowing us to purchase a small collection of surplus handmade pieces.

Every tapestry is individually handcrafted from reclaimed vintage fabrics and features intricate embroidery, metallic threadwork, mirror work, beadwork and richly textured patchwork. No two pieces are ever exactly alike, making each one completely unique.

Because these are genuine vintage handmade textiles, they are not factory-made. Small imperfections, loose threads, irregular stitching and subtle signs of age are all part of their authentic story and character.

CARE

Your tapestry may arrive with light creases from careful folding during shipping.

The best way to remove these is to lay it flat beneath a mattress or heavy rug for a few days, allowing the fibres to naturally relax.

Alternatively, use a garment steamer on a gentle setting from the reverse side or with a protective cloth between the steamer and the textile.

Please do not iron directly, as direct heat may damage the vintage fabrics, metallic embroidery, mirrors and embellishments.
